Choosing the Right Dining Chair
How scale, seat height and material influence everyday comfort at the table.

A dining chair is used for hours at a time. The right one supports long conversations without asking you to think about it.
Get the heights right
Most dining tables sit around 74–76 cm. Look for a seat height of 44–47 cm, which leaves roughly 28–30 cm between seat and tabletop for comfortable legroom.
Consider the back
A gently angled backrest encourages relaxed posture. Try sitting for a few minutes, not seconds, before you decide.
Material matters
Solid ash is light and strong, upholstered seats add softness, and woven seats offer a little give. Choose what suits how your table is used.
